1/2 mile map for coal ash sites with bad water

this map link might be helpful to you all. It is a link to a map with the outlined 1/2 mile radius for each site. You can click on your site and then click "zoom in" at the bottom of the tab to see the 1/2 mile radius. You will notice that all sites near a river have a 1/2 mile that resembles a half moon crescent. This is because HB630 excludes those water hookups living within a half mile radius, but are divided by the mainstem of a river. This excludes many in Arden and other sites that have contaminated wells across the river from the power plants until the contamination is proven to be from coal ash.

(c1) Provision of Permanent Water Supply. – As soon as practicable, but no later than October 15, 2018, the owner of a coal combustion residuals surface impoundment shall establish permanent replacement water supplies for (i) each household that has a drinking water supply well located within a one-half mile radius from the established compliance boundary of a coal combustion residuals impoundment, and is not separated from the impoundment by the mainstem of a river, as that term is defined under G.S. 143-215.22G, or other body of water that would prevent the migration of contaminants through groundwater from the impoundment to a well and……

“Mainstem” definition:
§ 143-215.22G.  Definitions.
In addition to the definitions set forth in G.S. 143-212 and G.S. 143-213, the following definitions apply to this Part.
(1)        "Mainstem" means that portion of a river having the same name as a river basin defined in subdivision (1b) of this section. "Mainstem" does not include named or unnamed tributaries.
