NC Fracking Setbacks 500ft from Your Home



 NC state panel recommended Friday that natural gas wells be at least 500 feet from the nearest occupied home, business or school – a distance far greater than allowed in many other states.

Colorado proposes bigger oil and gas drilling setbacks from homes
The state's proposal requires wells 1,000 feet or closer to a home to take steps such as using pit-less drilling, steel berms, strict dust and light controls and the capture of gases to reduce odors and emissions.
Wells could not be drilled within 1,000 feet of a school, nursing home or hospital without a hearing before the commission.
